ASML, the world’s leading manufacturer of semiconductor lithography equipment, has entered into a strategic partnership with Tata Electronics to support the development of India's first major commercial chip fabrication plant. The collaboration centers on Tata's $11 billion facility currently under construction in Dholera, Gujarat, as well as an additional assembly and testing unit in Assam.
ASML will provide the critical technology and expertise required to operate advanced lithography systems, which are essential for printing intricate circuits on silicon wafers. This agreement marks a significant milestone in India’s ambition to establish a domestic semiconductor ecosystem and reduce its reliance on international supply chains.
