Sony to Shut Down PS3 and Vita Stores by 2027

Sony has announced plans to permanently close the PlayStation Store for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita consoles. The phased shutdown will begin in August 2026 for select markets, including Mexico, Honduras, and Nicaragua, before expanding to other Latin American and Middle Eastern countries later that year.
The digital storefronts will officially close in all remaining global markets in July 2027. Once the stores are deactivated, users will no longer be able to purchase new digital games or in-game content.
