Infrastructure operated by Ubuntu and its parent company, Canonical, has been offline for over 24 hours following a sustained, cross-border distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attack. The outage has disrupted access to major web properties, including security APIs, developer portals, and official update repositories.
While central servers remain unreachable, Canonical has indicated that updates are still available through third-party mirror sites. A pro-Iranian group has claimed responsibility for the attack, which reportedly utilized a "booter" service to overwhelm the network.
