Nvidia has significantly expanded its role as a strategic investor, committing more than $40 billion to equity bets in 2026 to strengthen the global artificial intelligence infrastructure. The centerpiece of this spending spree is a $30 billion stake in OpenAI, the creator of ChatGPT.
Beyond this massive commitment, the chipmaker has finalized multibillion-dollar agreements with diverse partners, including data center operator IREN, glass manufacturer Corning, and silicon photonics specialist Marvell Technology. These investments are part of a broader strategy to finance the entire AI supply chain, ensuring that emerging infrastructure remains built on Nvidia hardware.
