Meta has introduced a new AI image generation model called Muse Image, developed by its Superintelligence Labs to compete with similar tools from OpenAI and Google. The model is deeply integrated into Instagram, where it allows users to create AI-generated images by tagging public profiles in prompts.
This feature effectively uses the photos and videos of public accounts to generate new content based on a user’s likeness, which Meta describes as a way to personalize graphics and collaborative creative concepts. Under the current rollout, public Instagram accounts are automatically opted into the system by default.
