Moonshot has unveiled Kimi K3, a 2.8-trillion-parameter model marketed as the world's first open 3T-class intelligence system. Built on new Kimi Delta Attention and Attention Residuals architectures, the model features native vision capabilities and a 1-million-token context window.
While Moonshot acknowledges that Kimi K3 still trails the performance of proprietary models like GPT-5.6 Sol and Claude Fable 5, it demonstrates frontier-level capabilities in long-horizon coding, scientific research, and complex agentic workflows. The model is currently available through the Kimi website, dedicated coding and work applications, and an API.
