Microsoft has announced a multiyear partnership with the French artificial intelligence startup Mistral AI, aimed at expanding its enterprise AI offerings and strengthening its presence in the European market. Through this agreement, Microsoft will provide Mistral with access to its Azure cloud infrastructure to train and host its large language models.
This collaboration signals a strategic move by Microsoft to diversify its AI portfolio beyond its major partnership with OpenAI, offering business customers a broader range of high-performance models. As part of the deal, Mistral’s latest flagship model, Mistral Large, will be made available to developers through the Azure AI studio and Azure Machine Learning platforms.
