Tidal has announced a new policy aimed at regulating artificial intelligence on its platform by automatically tagging wholly AI-generated music and blocking such tracks from earning royalties. The streaming service stated that while it will continue to host AI-assisted content, it will prioritize financial compensation for original works created and performed by human artists.
Additionally, the company will remove any AI-generated tracks that impersonate existing artists or are found to be associated with fraudulent activities. The policy will be implemented in phases, with the demonetization of fully AI-generated releases taking effect immediately.
