Chinese food delivery giant Meituan has announced the release and open-sourcing of LongCat-2.0, a new large language model featuring one trillion parameters. The company claims the system is the world’s first of its scale to be trained and operated entirely on a domestic computing cluster consisting of 50,000 Chinese-made chips.
Designed with a focus on agentic coding and long-document processing, the model can handle inputs of up to one million tokens. The development highlights a strategic shift toward technological self-sufficiency in China as domestic firms navigate restricted access to high-end U.S. semiconductors.
